Updating your Bullhorn linked account credentials

If you've changed the password of your Bullhorn API user or generated a new client secret, update them on your existing Bullhorn linked account. Your Bullhorn integrations keep running, and there's no need to unlink the account or reconnect any integrations.

Before you start

  • You need to be an account admin in Konquest.
  • Have the new client secret and the password for your Bullhorn API user to hand. You'll enter both, even if only one has changed.
  • Only the client secret and password can be updated. The client ID and username stay the same. To change those, see Changing the client ID or username.

Update your credentials

  1. Go to Settings > Linked Accounts.
  2. Find your Bullhorn account. Its name is your Bullhorn username followed by the client ID in brackets.
  3. Click the ⋮ menu at the end of the row and choose Update credentials.
  4. Enter the new Client Secret and Password.
  5. Click Save. The button shows Checking… while Konquest signs in to Bullhorn with the new details.

When Bullhorn accepts the new credentials, the dialog closes and they're saved.

What happens next

Every integration that uses this linked account picks up the new credentials on its next run. You don't need to edit or reconnect any integrations.

Konquest only saves credentials that Bullhorn accepts. If the check fails, your previous credentials stay in place.

Troubleshooting

What you see

What to do

"Bullhorn didn't accept these credentials. Check the client secret and password and try again."

Check both values for typos or extra spaces. Confirm the password by signing in to Bullhorn as the API user. If you generated a new client secret, make sure you copied the latest one. If they're correct, Bullhorn may be briefly unavailable, so try again in a few minutes.

"Failed to update the Bullhorn credentials. Please try again."

Try again. If it keeps happening, contact Konquest support.

No Update credentials option in the menu

The option is only available for Bullhorn accounts. Other systems' accounts can only be unlinked and linked again.

No Linked Accounts page in Settings

Only account admins can see linked accounts. Ask an admin in your organisation to make the change.

Changing the client ID or username

A different client ID or username counts as a new Bullhorn account, so link it separately and move your integrations across.

  1. Go to Settings > Linked Accounts, click Link Account, choose Bullhorn and enter the new details.
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations and open each integration that uses the old account.
  3. Change Linked Account to the new account and save.
  4. Back in Linked Accounts, open the old account's ⋮ menu and choose Unlink.

Unlinking an account deletes its saved credentials and switches off any integrations still using it, so move every integration across first.
